Event Description

16 Freelance positions available (4 in each art form) from March 2015 – July 2017

Fee -  £7,840

Age Cymru is looking to recruit 16 artist practitioners, four each in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Music and Words, to deliver their new cARTrefu Programme which will improve the quality and provision of art in care settings across Wales.

This exciting opportunity to be a part of an innovative and nationally-recognised project, will allow you to develop your own practice, whilst working alongside experts within the Arts and Older People field.  You will be provided with an expert mentor relevant to your art form, receive initial training, and have the opportunity to shadow your mentor, enabling you to develop how you use your practice to facilitate workshops for older people in care settings.

The ideal candidate will have a real desire to strive towards improving the quality of life for older people through direct access to the arts and be open and receptive to the mentoring process. You will need to have experience of facilitating workshops using your art form, however experience of working with older people isn’t essential, as the programme is designed to support practitioners to develop their skills in this area.  Those with some experience of working with older people are still encouraged to apply if they are keen to develop their skills further whilst working alongside an expert mentor.

This project is jointly funded by the Arts Council of Wales and the Baring Foundation.

Practitioners will be expected to have access to transport in order to reach various locations across Wales. The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check.
