ILIAD
21 September/Medi - 3 October/Hydref 2015
A theatrical staging of Christopher Logue's War Music
Directors Mike Pearson & Mike Brookes
“In the beginning there was no Beginning,
And in the end, no End…”
Mike Pearson and Mike Brookes, celebrated for their large-scale interpretations of The Persians and Coriolanus with NTW, will bring their trademark vision to this multimedia staging of the last weeks of the Trojan War.
There are four, separate shows that can be viewed individually, while bolder audience members can choose to see all four in one of two extraordinary, omnibus performances - either all day or overnight.
Whichever way you watch it, this will be an epic journey made with a cast of great Welsh actors, a troupe of teenage gods, and vast cinematic landscapes.
Classic Greek, epic storytelling meets box-set theatre.
Bydd Mike Pearson a Mike Brookes, sy’n enwog am eu dehongliadau graddfa fawr o The Persians a Coriolanus gyda NTW, yn dod â’u gweledigaeth glir i’r llwyfaniad amlgyfrwng hwn o wythnosau diwethaf y Rhyfel Troeaidd.
Mae pedair sioe ar wahân y gellir eu gwylio’n unigol, neu gall aelodau mwy mentrus y gynulleidfa ddewis gweld y pedair mewn un o ddau berfformiad omnibws anhygoel – naill ai drwy’r dydd neu dros nos. Pa ffordd bynnag y byddwch yn dewis gwylio, bydd hon yn daith epig gyda chast o actorion Cymreig ardderchog, carfan o dduwiau yn eu harddegau, a thirweddau sinematig maith.
Dyma stori epig glasurol Roegaidd yn cwrdd â theatr arferol.

"Iliad is certainly the theatrical event of the year. It may be the theatrical event of the decade" Andrew Dickson, The Guardian.
Passion. Betrayal. Courage. Rage. Comradeship. Loss. Loyalty. War. Heroes rebel; Kings and gods clash … who can win in this brutal battle between men, gods and fate?
ILIAD opens on Monday at Y Ffwrnes, with four individual shows to experience. We hope to see you there...
