Dear all,
I'm hosting a 'Theatre Uncut Cardiff' event on the 6th December at NosDa, Riverside.
I thought it might be something you might be interested in? Basically for one month of the year, newly commissioned plays (by a selected group of international playwrights) are available for anyone to perform.
The plays are responding to one question; a question relevant to socio-political landscape of that year.
They last approximately 10 mins each and are written explicitly to engage audiences in a discussion about their current political situation.
The question of 2015 is:
Does everyone get more right wing in financially tough times?
Theatre Found will be performing rehearsed readings of four of these plays:
In the Beginning by Neil Labute
Fragile by David Grieg
The Most Horrific by Vibianne Franzmann
The Recipe ( which is devised on the night using phrases and ideas given by the audience) by Rachel Chavkin
The evening will be really informal. We will begin by presenting the rehearsed readings followed by a facilitated discussion/debate with the audience about the themes involved and how the playwrights are engaging with these themes through theatre.
It would be great if you could come along and please do circulate to your contacts?
The event is free to attend and may well be interesting too! Oh , and very importantly, there is a bar!! :-)
