Working with Wellbeing through the arts - How can we explore the psychological aspects and nature of wellbeing with young people? This workshop, based on mindfulness psychologies, will investigate methods of exploring these ideas through the arts.

The workshop will be run by Steve Killick Clinical Psychologist with Barnardo's Bereavement Service in Cardiff, Storyteller and writer, with guest Jane Cooke from the Powys Associations of Voluntary Organisation's Mental health team.

The arts are a natural and powerful way of exploring emotions. This interactive workshop will explore the psychological aspects of wellbeing particularly how thoughts, emotions and actions relate to each other.

Based on ideas from the mindfulness psychologies; emotional literacy, positive psychology and third wave CBT this workshop will give practical ideas for thinking about our own and young people's wellbeing and will explore the importance of relationships and values. There will be practical exercises and the chance to discuss how these ideas can be applied in different art forms.

Jane Cooke from Powys Associations of Voluntary Organisation's Mental health team will give a short presentation about services available to young people in Powys, how they can access these services, and what the arts can do to give young people a voice in their provision.
