*** COLLABORATORS NEEDED***

Ascendance Theatre Arts’ Adult Company, a new undertaking for the popular Cardiff based company, is preparing one – two projects for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (August) 2013 with potential touring opportunities September 2013 onwards. We are seeking collaborators to assist with the writing and direction of these pieces with potential acting opportunities.

The first piece is an adaptation of Yerma, by Frederico Garcia Lorca, in response to the Welsh IVF funding cuts, which examines the deterioration of a couple’s relationship through their infertility problems.  A small scripted section of this piece was presented at The Forge, Chapter Arts Centre, performed by two actors as a piece of physical theatre. The collaboration process will decide the fate of these characters and the potential inclusion of further characters. Collaborators, using real-life stories, improvisations and other stimuli, will devise the rest of the piece. We are particularly interested in the male perspective and would especially welcome male collaborators to join Welsh actor, Sam Harding.

We hope the second piece will be a situational comedy and welcome writers with ideas or completed scripts.

We encourage anyone interested in getting involved in this project to contact Millie Naylor at: millie@naylor.org.uk
