Thanks to everyone who came to see MUSCLE at Chapter last weekend. We hope to refine the piece and tour it so any feedback is very welcome. Also, if you can spare a minute, then email Nick Davies at ACW. They rarely get good feedback and it makes a difference to our show. We're really sorry so many people couldn't get a ticket but with the support of those who did hopefully the rest of you will later in the year. Can I just take this opportunity to thank everyone who worked on the show from the fantastic cast, designers, stage managers, video artists, composers and to Phil Williams (old twinkle toes himself. Thanks also to the ACW and Chapter, but perhaps especially to Notadigital who sponsored the Arts for the first time!

Moving into the sixth year of his very successful On The Edge script-reading project Michael Kelligan will be presenting his company’s first fully staged production this month at Chapter. ‘The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde As Told To Carl Yung By An Inmate Of The Broadmoor Asylum.’(Based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson) by Mark Ryan. The play was first presented as a reading in last years programme. Now he directs this new production bringing together two actors, Dean Rehman and Nathan Sussex who have both been noted for their strong performances throughout the On The Edge project. Dean Rehman first came to prominence with his very strong performance in Kelligan’s production of Utah Blue by Dic Edward in which he played the embittered murderer Gary Gilmore. He then went on to repeat the performance in a production at Sherman Cymru and has since worked with many companies throughout Wales including Clywd Theatre Cymru and Hijinx Theatre. Nathan Sussex was first spotted for his moving playing of the denied father in Patrick Jones ‘Absents’ and for a particularly captivating and sensitively judged performance in Ian Rowland’s controversial play ‘Blink’ also directed by Kelligan. He has more recently been seen in Coronation Street and Judge John Deed.

‘The Strange Case Of Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde As Told To Carl Yung By An Inmate Of The Broadmoor Asylum.’(Based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson) will be presented at the Chapter at 8pm from Wed. January 20 until Sat 23 Tickets £10 (Concessions £8)

Hi

I've just moved to cardiff and really wanting to get involved in the years productions.

I'm a production manager and the majority of my experience is from working on site-specific events - from galleries to beaches. If there is any way I could get involved in the NTW productions - get in touch!

Hi Greg, it's in my diary. If by chance I can't make it I'll ask one of the team to come. Hope rehearsals go well. J

A brief "heads up" before Christmas about my new show "Muscle" at Chapter Arts Centre on January 15th/16th. Its based on interviews with men of all ages and walks of life across Wales. I'm collaborating with Choreographer Phil Williams, dance music composer Gareth Evans and designer Angharad Matthews. I've also assembled a brilliant cast, some of whom have never acted before but come from the world of music, dance, martial arts and performance poetry. Quite a few others come from the Royal Welsh College! Its very much an experiment with forms interacting on stage. We're using actual footage of the interviews, mixed with verbatim theatre, contemporary dance and song. Initially the show will be a work in progress with the intention of developing it into a whole piece later in the year after feedback.

Some of the stories I've been given are extraordinary, shocking and passionate, whilst others are delicately poignant, or downright ridiculous, but then that's men for you.

I hope John McGrath and his crew get along to see it, but I certainly extend an invitation to all and sundry and look forward to your comments.

Right....back to the script!
