Why set up a group?

Changes in digital and social media are changing not just how we use digital media in communications in the Arts, they are also evolving how we need to think about digital media in production, creative idea generation, writing, community engagement and organizational management.

Importance of Digital Media Learning

With this has come the importance of ongoing learning and sharing about digital media. Be that managing a Twitter account for communications, using Facebook as part of the narrative for a production, or sharing our work as writers for collaborative cocreation of ideas through Google Docs.

No one has all the answers [and if they tell you they do just smile ;-)], but all of us have certain experiences and resources. So I thought what better way to share learning than by creating a group on the NTW social network.

Tag it!

See something of value on Twitter about Digital Media or writing a blog post about digital media that could be of interest to the Arts community - Tag it or RT adding the hashtag: #dmgtinarts

Why a lego camera?

It is fun! It is also about so much more than the camera :-)

I've just been reading this article (http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture-professionals-network/culture-pro...) on the Guardian Culture Pros network. It talks about communications but also hints at what is probably the more interesting part of the discussion: organisational communications. There is often much talk of opening up internal conversations but it would be great to see organisations doing this more and sharing process not just of productions but in the actual day to day running of the company.

Should a Digital Campaign plan be closely linked to the Press Campaign plan? Or at least be planned out in a similar way - targeting different messages to different audiences...like writing blog posts, facebook statuses, video blogs etc - ..just a morning thought :P
