Motherlode

Motherlode is a company dedicated to making ambitious theatre of the highest quality. Headed by director Rachael Boulton (Emerging Director National Theatre Wales) with composer Max Mackintosh (winner of best production at Wales Theatre Awards) and Emma Vickery we produce exciting work from Wales that speaks to worldwide audiences.

Our work is created in the Rhondda Valley, just next to the Bwlch Mountain. Resident at the Park and Dare Theatre, built in 1914, one of Wales' still standing ex-mining halls, we invite exceptional artists to collaborate with us to tell relevant and rousing stories, rooted in Wales but knowing no bounds.

In more detail. Motherlode works intensively with an ensemble who through vigorous physical theatre and voice training create a visceral and unique performance style.

Motherlode aims to share the unheard stories of Wales by working with the communities they represent to create entertaining, innovative and moving productions for the audiences of Wales and beyond.

We have two shows on the road at the moment, The Good Earth, touring Wales and the US and Blackout at the National Theatre UK this summer.

We've just finished our first week of rehearsals for our new show The Good Earth showing at Chapter this September. It's almost two years since I first met our producer Sarah Jane Leigh when we were both working on NTW's sell out showTonypandemonium at the Park and Dare Theatre Treorchy. Now we're back in the building creating work of our own. Big hat tip to National Theatre Wales for bringing emerging artists together. Here are a few pics from rehearsals this week .

We've started rehearsals! Big thanks to Tom and the team at Parc & Dare for making us feel at home. We're thrilled to be making The Good Earth come to life for our shows in Chapter next month - http://www.chapter.org/node/30561

Scripts in the post and on their way to some lovely lovely actors in preparation for #thegoodearth rehearsals next week. Big thank you to RCT Arts Service, Wales Millennium Centre, Chapter and Arts Council Wales for helping us get back in the room again!
