Gavin, cheers for your comments. I'm so pleased you liked the show. I didn't know if was your first play, so I'm very relieved it was a good experience!

Rachael. it's fine to post any comments or follow up here. Of you can put them in a blog and post the blog on the main part of the site, with the has tag NTW10 and it will all magically join up (I think!)

A few of us who hope to be involved with NTW10 - butetown - watched A good night out in the valleys and we all thought it was brilliant. This is my first play and I went in arms folded thinking 'go on then... entertain me' and to my delight I was. My mind has been spinning not stop since with thoughts of what can be achieved a NTW10.

Apologies for not getting on here sooner. Work has been really busy.

Wanted to say firstly that Nathan and I really enjoyed the workshop on the 7th February and are excited about how the community can be involved. Firstly there was discussion following our interviews with the public during the workshop about posting their comments somewhere. Do you want us to do this on the comment wall or should I email them to someone.

Very exciting news about Genaya going to Brazil!!!

Hope all are well

I WAS INTRODUCED TO THE NTW STAFF A FEW WEEKS AGO, WHEN I WAS ASKED TO ATTEND A WEEKEND OF FUN FILLED SEMINARS, BASED ON THE BUTETOWN AREA. THE SEMINARS REALLY OPENED MY EYES, AS TO WHAT PEOPLE'S OPINIONS WERE LIKE ON THIS AREA, WHICH I HAVE LIVED ALI MY LIFE. I HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO GO TO BRAZIL, ON THE 21ST OF MARCH. TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE ART ORGANIZATIONS AND THE DIFFERENT BRAZILIAN CULTURE PROJECTS. I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED ABOUT THE TRIP, I KNOW I WILL LEARN ALOT OUT THERE ASWEL AS SHARE MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCES. I WILL KEEP YOU ALL POSTED XXXX

Read this brilliant blog by Manchester artist, Borhan, about a Butetown resident he met on his last visit:

Hatching. Matching. Dispatching.

Poems courtesy of Butetown Youth Pavilion's Young People

The street where I live is by a big bridge
It’s called Cardiff Bay
But the name has changed with the people
As the generation gets older
The people get worse
There are ones who are posh
And ones with bad odours
If you came into my area
You would be surprised
There are a lot of young people
Who enjoy peas & rice
There are a lot of different restaurants
From Chinese to Portuguese
And they all get really busy
With lots of people from different Ethnic Minorities
You see a lot of people
With serious ‘bling, bling’
And baggy waggy pants
On most of the streets
You see little people dance

‘If The Walls Had Ears’

If the roads could hear …

… they would hear people moaning that the number 8 is always late

and the number 9 is never on time

Couples kissing on the corners of the street

and the sounds of the Butetown MAS Parade beat

The children in the park

and teenagers after dark

Drunk people on the way home from the pub

stumbling to New World to get some grub

The cars go past like ‘brm, brm, brm’

and the teachers go past thinking how

dumb, dumb, dumb
