Artists and Writers...
We think it's about time we give our Guidelines for Artists a little revamp! This is where we outline how we want to work and strike up conversation with the artistic community of Wales. It's really important that you have an opportunity to tell us how you think we should do this. And this is it!
Have a look at the link and feel free to feedback your thoughts to me. Questions would be just as helpful as statements!
Please get your thoughts to me before 20th Sep so we can make any changes and roll it out before Oct.
We were already up to capacity on this http://lnkd.in/YwUXwW but we've just added another 10 places - book now! 24 Sept at Chapter - please book on ASAP if you want to join us.
This Sunday you can catch a performance of my play Cages, at Burdall's Yard, Bath at 7.00pm. Directed by Nerys Rees, and co-produced by Tom Wentworth, Cages is a short play about three women in a hospital waiting room. They’ve never met but they’re all trapped by the same prognosis. How each woman copes is very different, yet somehow their reactions are ruled by the men in their lives.

Last year, Lucid hosted a couple of events for producers in order to exchange ideas and share experiences. Change is always a part of theatre and the role of producer is very much contributing to some major shifts in how things are happening at the moment. But many people who are producers don’t have that title. And many people who call themselves producers find that their experience and skill-set limits their ability to perform all aspects of the role. And what is a producer anyway? Isn’t it just another name for an administrator? Or is a producer someone who instigates a creative project and makes it happen?
Are you a producer? Do you want to get in a room with other producers and talk about what you are doing? Look for support and help perhaps? Or maybe share your wisdom?
After a conversation with freelance producer Laura Drane and John Williams at Theatr Iolo, we thought it was a good time to revisit this conversation and take it further. So if you think of yourself as a producer and would like to come along to this event, please join us at Chapter on Tuesday 24th September from 7pm until about 9.30pm in Media Point.
Reserve your place: https://producersplace.eventbrite.co.uk/
Co-hosted by Simon Harris/ Lucid Theatre, Laura Drane/ indpendent producer and John Carey Williams/ Theatr Iolo.
Hi all,
I'm really pleased to be able to tell you that WalesLab is now taking new submissions. (I'm really excited about this)
If you haven't applied before then there is also information for you about how to get involved, the first step is to join the WalesLab group, so if you haven't yet, now is your chance.
The other development (which I am really pleased about) is that we can now take submissions ALL YEAR ROUND. Join the WaleLab group to find out more information or give me a shout on here if you have any questions.

One Friday night an exotic, beautiful man falls from the sky, washing up in the river by a seemingly cursed Welsh farm. So begins this darkly comic new play from the multi award-winning writer of “Muscle”. When the degenerate farmer and his three adult children discover the corpse the web of guilt and history, which has bound them together, begins to unravel. As they each fall in love with this angelic stranger they wonder where he could have fallen from and why a sinister man in a green Barbour coat is so desperate to find him?
