Volcano Youth Company

VYC for young people aged 13 to 21

HOT OFF THE PRESS | Volcano are now running movement workshops for people under the age of 13 and under the age of 8.

Activities and workshops are currently held at Volcano Theatre,
The Iceland Building, 27-29 High Street, Swansea SA1 1LG.

Building a community of daring young people who will become the next generation of innovators of Performance in Wales and beyond.

Volcano formed a new Young People's Drama Company from Autumn 2015 specialising in contemporary Physical Theatre & devised Performance, which will lead to productions with acclaimed companies such as National Theatre of Wales.

Previous productions, devised by VYC:
wereallywanttowinbutwedontwanttotrytoohard
(performed in Swansea and Newport Wales, and Fife in Scotland)

A unique opportunity for young people to explore their ideas, inspire one another, and discover new skills. The emphasis will be on enabling the participants to unlock their creativity through experimentation, play and sharing, and to build trust and confidence (in themselves and one another) in a supportive professional environment.

The sessions will be led by Director Paul Davies and Choreographer/Movement Director Catherine Bennett and will take place in Volcano’s exciting new Bunker Theatre in The Iceland Building in Swansea High Street. Volcano is a Swansea-based professional theatre company that has been making extraordinary theatre and touring it all over the world for over 26 years.

Keep your eyes open for when the next series of workshops are!
