Hope you all got a chance to read up on the Wales Drama Award.  As I talk about in the blog announcing the award this initiative is very much inspired by the discussions in this group.  It's only one of the things we hope to do to support and inspire writers over the coming years - but it's an important one:  an award not limited to emerging writers, or any other particular group, where everyone's on an even footing, and everyone has a chance to win.  I hope also that writers who may not win will nonetheless be spotted by the BBC and NTW through the award.  Do give it a shot!

Urgently looking for as many actors and writers and other creative types who can commit half an hour for an instant performance at the Sherman Theatre next Tuesday evening. The event is part of a worldwide reading of a poem by Liu Xiaobo, the Chinese poet and Nobel Peace Prize winner who is currently imprisoned. As many actors as possible - the more the mightier. Reply here or e: notional.theatre@yahoo.co.uk. ASAP. Ta TVx

"Muscle" the Herald Angel Award winning production (Edinburgh Festival 2011) opens at The Sherman on this Wednesday night through to Saturday night. This revamped version with some new stories, characters, actors, animation and visuals promises to be a even better experience. so do come along and have a night of great stories, dance and theatre. www.shocknawe.org.uk

Re: "At 3pm today we'll be making a very exciting announcement for writers in Wales"- three cheers.

I know it’s a theatre site but there was a comment last year about television drama. Highly recommendable shows on a Saturday night at both Chapter & New Theatre but the contributor was staying at home to see “the Killing”.

No theatre on a Sunday anyhow- any writers watching “Homeland”?

The Landed Festival (May 5th -6th) in the beautiful Wye Valley near Rhayader is in its second year, having secured a ten year licence. This year they are running a performance tent with a proper auditorium and facilities.  They are looking for people who wish to perform theatre, circus, comedy or who have made short films and would like them shown.  There are no fees, but expect expenses and a great weekend. www.landedfestival.co.uk

Hi All.  At 3pm today we'll be making a very exciting announcement for writers in Wales.  The news will be revealed on the home page of this site, as well as through the press, etc. It's an initiative that very much grows out of some of the discussions in this group. I hope it will spark your interest!
