Information

The Hijinx Residencies

Hijinx Residencies are a fantastic opportunity to learn from some of the most well respected theatre companies working in the UK today. Sharing their expertise over week-long workshops, companies such as CompliciteFrantic AssemblyPunchdrunkSpymonkeyCardboard CitizensTold by an Idiot and Ockham's Razor will help you develop performance skills including clowning, contact improvisation, devising and aerial work. Courses start from just £100 for a week.

Working inclusively

If you have never worked alongside learning disabled performers Hijinx Residencies are a fantastic opportunity to do so. A number of places at each course will be allocated to students from the Hijinx Academy, our advanced drama training course for talented learning disabled actors. Come ready to work in a lively, empowering and massively enjoyable environment.

This group is the place to find out all the new news, including full programme details, dates, prices.  But more than that, we want to create a place where you and we can share our thoughts, learnings and ideas from the courses.  Let us know what you thought of them, and who you'd like to see on the programme in future - we are ALL ears (and fingers, for typing).

John Wright is now confirmed for the week of 4th March 2013 - please get in touch if you would like to apply to do his introduction to mask course!

We are also still trying to confirm a date for the Okham's Razor course which we have ahd to rearrange as they were asked to do the London Mime Festival in the week we had them booked - now searching Cardiff for a space big enough to fit their full trapese rig on the dates they are available.

We are also hoping the Joyce Henderson of Complicite will return to run a weeks course called Clowning in the Real World sometime in February 2013. Please register interest now if interested in any of these fantastic opportunities!

Hi all

There are still some places available on our next residency to be run by Forum Theatre masters Cardboard Citizens - at just £100 for the week it's a snip of what you would expect to pay if you wanted to travel to The Big Smoke for any of their courses! Email ben for application details

Also there have been some changes to the Okham Razor dates due to a clash with the London International Mime Festival on their part, watch this space for updates.
