Hello, I'm Abbie

I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Abbie Allen. I'm from Warwickshire and I'm currently studying my final year of BA Scriptwriting at the University of South Wales. I am a writer of many mediums and I try to convey a meaning in what I write, but sometimes I get so lost in the world of the idea I forget that. I have a tendency of juggling various and numerous ideas around all at once. I started writing novels when I was fourteen years old as an escape from school life. I showed it to a…See More

Profile Information

What I do:
Writer/University Student/Deputy Head of Arts for USW's student radio station DRAGON RADIO
A little more about me:
I am a passionate writer of Young Adult Novels, Theatre, TV, Radio and Film, mainly in Crime and Drama. Currently I am a Third year studying BA Scriptwriting at University of South Wales, graduating in 2017.
Location:
Nuneaton
Projects I’m working on:
IN SCRIPT PROGRESS:
BENEATH THE SURFACE- A 3-part TV series following a new TDC joining a Birmingham police station, uncovering everything she was led to believe about her family and the job is a lie.

MIND OF MY OWN- A theatre piece about a ten year old girl preparing to move up to secondary school, battling her Asperger Syndrome to find herself with the help of a character she creates in her writing. The more confidence the character gives to the girl, the less the character exists in the same world until the girl has found herself and recovered her confidence.

STEP TOO FAR- A 3-part, 3 series long TV Crime Drama. Each series follows a member of Kingswell Police Station and how everything they know and love about their family and their job can so easily be torn away. Secrets emerge about those they are meant to know so well, but questions are asked how involved in the events is the officer at the heart of each series.

AMY- A feature length film about a 21 year old girl trying to find herself amongst her family of spies hired by the government. As she starts to understand what the family business, the International Protection Service (IPS), fights for, she slowly doubts how much of what she knows is true. As events crash around her she must learn who to depend on and who is willing to stab her in the back for a good result.

IN PRODUCTION:
SMITH & FOX- A 5-part radio series following a cousin duo helping a Birmingham police station close down, only to be landed with a murder. Just as they start to get to grips with the case, evidence is going walk-about as things are moved for storage, so time is against them to find who the murderer is. This series is to be produced by USW's student radio station DRAGON RADIO in 2017.
