BÉZNĂ Theatre is an award-winning British-Romanian political theatre collective formed in 2013 by Sînziana Koenig and Nico Vaccari. BÉZNĂ is committed to activism through bold theatre in artistic and educational environments in Romania and the UK. We believe that theatre has the potential to be a powerful platform to create awareness of social inequality and inspire change. We have produced 6 critically acclaimed theatre productions and run 9 socio-politically driven educational programmes exploring urgent social and political issues.
A little more about me:
WE CONSIDER THEATRE A POWERFUL PLATFORM FOR GRASSROOTS ACTIVISM.
WE CREATE SOCIALLY DRIVEN INTERVENTIONIST THEATRE THAT CHALLENGES INEQUALITY THROUGH NEW ARTISTIC FORMS.
WE AIM TO PROMOTE EMPATHY, EMPOWER OUR AUDIENCES AND INSPIRE CHANGE.
Location:
Romania - UK
Projects I’m working on:
Working on a cycle of plays which aim to provoke a conversation about the British State’s dehumanising and illegalising of people from colonial times to today.
