Profile Information

What I do:
Chris Kinsey received an Arts Council of Wales Bursary to write poetry in 2000. Kung fu Lullabies, Ragged Raven Press, came out in 2004, Cure for a Crooked Smile, Ragged Raven, will be launched at Oriel Davies Gallery, Newtown, Powys on 27th November 2009 and Swarf is forthcoming from Smokestack Books. Chris was BBC Wildlife Poet-of-the-Year in 2008.

Feathering the Dark is Chris’s first attempt to write for the stage. She has been working with Kaite O'Reilly and Aberystwyth Arts Centre and the play will be given a rehearsed reading at the Arts Centre on 16th November 2009,as part of the Travelling Light festival. Chris she has collaborated with Mid-Powys Youth Theatre and Vox Orbis Choir with performances of Encounters in2008.

Her short film script Legless was shortlisted by TAPs (Cymru) for production by ITV’s It’s My Shout in 2008. Her digital story, Houndlove is published on the BBC Wales website. Chris has had a story and poetry read on BBC Radio 4. She also writes poetry reviews and a regular Nature Diary for Cambria.
