Stand Up Comedian - Actor - Writer
A little more about me:
Through most of the 1980s I was a performance poet, after being shortlisted for The Vivien Ellis Prize for writers of New Musicals, I became more interested in theatre, and in 1989, enrolled on a BTEC Performing Arts Course. I mainly worked in Children's theatre - Theatre in Education - Wrote the book for and took a starring role in the Children's Gothic Sci-Fi Musical "The Beeneez Quest For Trumpor" (The Princess Royal Theatre, Port Talbot - 1990) - Director, and play a leading role in Ken Campel's Children's Play "Skungpoomery" (The Princess Royal Theeatre, Port Talbot - 1991). In 1999 I entered the world of comedy, becoming a stand up comedian, performing as a character called Psycho Dave - My first television appearance as this character was on the ITV 1 stand up show "Take The Mike". In 2007 I won the Channel four "Gags To Go" competition, for writers of comedy for new media - as a result of this, I was invited to co-write Channel 4s first online comedy sketch show (The Paranoia Show) - I also had a comedy show on local radio (The Bizarro World Of Psycho Dave). I have written and presented a number of podcasts, including "The Small World Of Little Jimmy Small" and "Sherlock Holmes And The Christmas Garfunkel". I am currently a director of a new theatrical production company, based in Swansea, called "Tent Of Xerxes"

Our Season of Anti War Plays At Swansea Grand Theatre's Arts Wing

Tent Of Xerxes is a new production company I am involved in - we are based in Swansea - Our first project is producing season of three, hard-hitting one-person & two-person plays, at Swansea Grand Theatre's Arts Wing, that explore the physical and psychological trauma of war.

The plays are

The Body of an American by Dan O'Brien. Winner of the Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Political Drama 2013.

Auditions in Swansea For Dan O'Brien's The Body Of An American

I am one of the directors of Tent Of Xerxes, a Production Company working out of Swansea _ we will be holding auditions at the beginning of March for our production of Dan O'Brien's "The Body Of An American" - This is a biographical docu-drama, the play, only has a cast of two, nevertheless, it demands much of its actors, in that twenty characters are brought to life during the meeting of the author, and the Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Paul Watson.
