Scenic Art, Construction and Prop Making is my trade.
I started as a set assistant and have grown into the scenic World.
I have had the joys of working as Workshop Assistant at Salisbury Playhouse for the last year, building scenery making props and dabbling in scenic art. Prior to this adventure, I worked on the Autumn Season at the Torch Theatre as Scenic Artist and as welding fabricator at Bay Productions on the production of Parsifal. The whole adventure began at Sherman Cymru who I repeatedly worked for from 2008 – 2013.
It is a world that I live in, enjoying the challenges of never knowing what job might come up.
I gained the skills for these jobs through my training at Royal Welsh College of Music and Dram, where i lived in the workshop.
I have skills in various paint applications and finishes, including spraying, texturing, splattering and distressing. I have developed techniques in polycarving, casting, prop making carpentry and metal work. I am also IPAF trained and have a full clean driving licence.
Theatre is a world I have thrived in and I wish to continue to do so. I want to explore further into the artistic world, recreating design concepts, whether it be for a small touring show, large-scale productions, film or television.
I take great pride in making and reproducing a design and seeing how that is translated.
