Profile Information

What I do:
I am a director, choreographer and performer working in dance, film, theatre and the visual arts.
A little more about me:
I have been performing for 25 years with companies such as DV8 Physical Theatre, Rosas (Belgium) and Rambert Dance Company. Recent performance work includes Wendy Houstoun’s Stupid Women and Deborah Light’s HIDE and Quarantine's Wallflower. I worked with John McGrath as Movement Director on NTW's Mother Courage. Currently I'm touring a work called An Invitation... preparing a new show called PITCH for Edinburgh Festival 2016 and heading towards the premier of WNO's new production of Kommillitionen!a site specific production at Barry Memo.

Several choreographic works have been developed through a research process called The Audience.
Dialogue – A Double Act toured internationally with Dance Roads 2014.
Watching is an audio visual piece made in collaboration with Heloise Godfrey-Talbot.
An Invitation… began at the Edinburgh Festival 2014 is currently touring UK venues. The work has been selected for the British Council Showcase 2015 and British Dance Edition 2016

My film installation Witness - Portraits of Women Who Dance toured the UK and was selected for British Dance Edition 2014.

As an independent artist I present work that is thought-provoking and centred around people, dancers or players who translate, reveal or perform. The work is grounded in the idea of honesty in performance and looks under the skin: the psychological drives, motivations or inherent characteristics of an individual or group, creating a shared and considered relationship with an audience. The body is my first language, though text and voice work are regularly a part of the whole. I combine physical technical knowledge, agility and experience with a raw, rebellious and curious spirit. I endeavour to understand further and explore the scope for movement to communicate and to cultivate work that is generous, engaging and embodies an alternative beauty.
Projects I’m working on:
