Goodbye Cymer Afan Comprehensive - The Little Switzerland Project (working title)

Last Friday was a particularly sad day for myself and the community of the Upper Afan Valley. After a hard fight and a legal challenge Cymer Afan Comprehensive School, of the Upper Afan Valley, closed its doors for the summer for the very last time and won't be reopening this September.87 years ago it opened as a senior school and in 1965 it was turned into a…See More

Profile Information

What I do:
Performance Artist. Graduated from University South Wales, MA (Dist.) in Drama, and London Metropolitan, BA (Hons) in Performing Arts.
A little more about me:
I am an emerging performance artist originally from Cymer in the Upper Afan Valley in Port Talbot. My interest of the Arts started from an early age and I studied Performing Arts at both college in Gorseinon and university in London. Most recently, I graduated from the University of South Wales with a Master of Arts (Dist.) in Drama. Over the last year I have been exploring the type of artist that I want to be. I take an autobiographical approach to most of my work and increasingly use multi-media in my performances. I am interested in themes of identity, sexuality and gender. Having had a training in contemporary styles of dance, I have a particular interest in using the body as a means to create meaning and drama. My vision is to create unique experimental and forward thinking performance that provokes and encourages change in a socio-political context.

Untitled 2a - A Callout

Untitled 2a is a film created last year for a film installation. It unveils my own autobiographical struggle of coming to terms with my sexuality where the education system has failed me.

“Too often, our children don’t get the education they need - the education they deserve [...] Children…
