APOCALYPSO: The Last Bar On Earth

THE END IS COMING... When making a play about the end of the world, it'd be hard to not be too over dramatic... So instead we are embracing that instinct and whacking up to eleven. This week we properly kick-start our new project Apocalypso. It's been two years in the think-tank, and this June we will be bringing it…See More

This is a group for Tin Shed Theatre Co.Based in Newport, South Wales, we are Justin Cliffe, Georgina Harris and Antonio Rimola, three performance artists who want to introduce themselves to strangers, be bold and brave, amaze with a tale and transport audiences to a place that, although remains detached from the literal, can still enlighten our perceptions of the real world all the same. The work we do is as varied as the things that inspire it. We like to explore empty buildings, transform…See More

SMASH IT UP RETURNS

SMASH IT UPRETURNETH This phenomenal piece of work (in my humble opinion) from Mr and Mrs Clark Ltd and BOSCH is currently in residency at Chapter Arts after a successful run at Ed Fringe and The Riverfront last year. We went to see it's first incarnation and we're totally blown away by it's skill, honesty and power…See More

Profile Information

What I do:
Co-Director of Tin Shed Theatre Co - Theatre Maker - Performer - Workshop Facilitator - Digital Artist
A little more about me:
I’m a Theatre Maker involved in the devising, writing and performance phases of theatre and live art; making work as an individual, a co-collaborator and as part of Tin Shed Theatre Co.

Over the past 5 years I have developed and performed work in the UK and internationally with Thrift Music Theatre, Mr & Mrs Clark, We Made This, National Theatre Wales and The Birmingham REP.

I'm inspired by tom-foolery, the grotesque, cult iconography, pastiche, and human experience.

As a Freelance Workshop Facilitator, I specialise in; Devising Drama & Performance Technique, Film and Stop Motion Animation, delivering workshops and collaborating on community projects with Educational Establishments and Youth Centers to Residential Initiatives, and Charities like The British Red Cross.

I have recently began to make work as part of Mulit-Platform Artist collaborative PeterJustin.

Making documentary and autobiographical work that primarily exists in gallery spaces, but explores heritage, the past and our own human experiences.
Location:
Newport/Shropshire/London
Projects I’m working on:
As part of Tin Shed Theatre Co. we have just finished creating a piece of fun clown-inspired performance-caberate aimed at touring outdoor music and theatre festivals.

As part of my work with PeterJustin I am currently creating a collection of digital explorations that examine the social processes that take place when attempting to find love online, with a wider peek at how digital technologies are effecting us as a people.

Personally I have recently become obsessed with animal iconography and our connection to animals. Whether it be because we're scared of them, in love with them or eating them, Through this exploration I have stumbled upon a greater connection to the animal kingdom, one I made when I was a child. A hopeful, blissful child who bathed in wonderment, now I'm a shitty adult... Through this exploration I am developing the performance persona TigerFace.

Hey man, hows things? yeah, all good my end - just starting to get through the 500GB of footage from Wales Lab, cheers for doing loads of video diaries btw - they're really helping me to piece the whole thing back together... What are you working on at the moment?

thanks for a the speedy reply. I am ashamed to say that I have lived in newport for almost 23 years and I have never heard of this place. Ill make it my mission this week though it go and have a look around. Your right btw about there not being a good way to find out whats going on in Newport, it really does need a bit of a kick up the bum. It makes it too easy to gravitate towards Cardiff for all your artistic cravings.
