Founded in 2010 by multi-talented circus performers George Orange, Anna Sandreuter and Eleanor Pilot. Starting off creating immersive circus cabaret productions in Cardiff’s local community halls, Mary Bijou have now sold out shows across the globe.
They were invited by the Wales Millennium Centre to perform as part of the Blysh Festival in 2011, where they were asked to create a show inspired by Cardiff’s rich history as a marine harbour. Using Jacques Brel song The Port of Amsterdam Mary Bijou created a show of the same name and performed a two night sold-out run.
Since then, Mary Bijou has been going from strength to strength. Their latest show Hitch is a circus cabaret inspired by Alfred Hitchcock and was commissioned by the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff and funded by Arts Council Wales. It was first performed it at the WMC in 2013 for four nights to sold out audiences. This year it was taken on tour across the UK and had a successful run at the Edinburgh Festival.
