Profile Information

What I do:
Writer. Teacher. Learner. Co-founder of Slung Low.
A little more about me:
I helped found Slung Low ages ago. I've written loads of shows with them. I taught English at a comprehensive school in Cardiff for about a decade. I've also written two novels: Playing Mercy, and The Ground Remembers - both on Parthian Books. I've been in America for the last three-and-a-half years where I wrote, worked in a record shop and researched innovative approaches to education. Now I'm back.
Location:
Newport
Projects I’m working on:
Lots of things but right now I'm working mainly on a third novel and am a Creative Agent for Arts Council Wales' Lead Creative Schools programme.

Scottster. My girlfriend Chloe has a play on here. They gave her an apartment for two months, so I've come out of the last two weeks. Did the Sopranos tour last weekend and met 'Vito'. I got my picture taken with him and bought a 'Bada Bing' numberplate off him. I gave them the money and it was all crumpled up and he said 'I oughta teach you how to handle money.' I just giggled. Back on Monday. You going to any Springboard plays?

Lead Creative Schools is a programme in which we try to use the creative process to enhance learning and help boost confidence and results. As well as giving them first hand experience of the types of practice involved in your day to day creative work,…

Job Opportunity at Bristol Old Vic

Yesterday at the Lucid event there was a lot of complaints about jobs not being well advertised. It's not for a writer but still, here's me doing my bit. I do expect a badge.

Willy Vlautin @ Balloon

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble! Again.

Following the success of our first poetry, prose and people playing music party last November we have kept our word and decided to put on another one. To keep things simple, we are still calling it Balloon.

However, we wouldn’t like to be accused of resting on our laurels. Not only have we moved arena to Cardiff Arts Institute, but we are also taking things international.
