Ocean Park Academy: A Creative Collaboration has begun!

TEAM Education: Assistant Director Opportunity!

National Theatre Wales TEAM is creating an original piece with Ocean Park Academy, a school in Splott, Cardiff.  Working with the school over two terms, NTW will be asking the pupils to devise their own creative piece. Education TEAM assistant and English teacher as well as mum of three and sometime writer. Very excited to be working with NTW and exploring ways in which NTW can create a new approach in terms of theatre and education.

Over the past six months I have been chairing meetings throughout Wales with amazing arts practitioners, educators, artists, theatre-makers, musicians, youth workers, ehe officers, poets, puppeteers and many more looking at ways in which we can develop an innovative and exciting NTW approach to education. Tanzanian Birds

As part of City of the Unexpected, we were thrilled to work with a group of children from Tanzania who created the most beautiful birds from wood, ankara fabric, beads and found objects.  They then developed stories about their birds, which they shared in both English and Swahili, or a wonderful mix of the two.  

This was all done in honour of Roald Dahl's links with Tanzania, where he lived during the 1930s and form part of a shared creative and storytelling process between…

hi naiomi, at present we have no internet access to our building as BT Phone CO OPare at war over our phone account 9BT refuses to give a migration code to the new provider So we are dead in the water. I am accessing this at home but communication and selling tickets and running a complex business is compromised by these corporate jerks.
