Profile Information

What I do:
Circus-Theatre Director, Choreographer, Performer.
A little more about me:
Co-founder and Artistic Director of Crashmat Collective a company that seeks to blur the boundaries between performer and audience and creates work based on the personal truths of its performers. I also work freelance as a performer, director and circus choreographer.

Interested in creating new work in all locations and on a variety of themes. I've spent the last few years working both outdoors and in and on various scales enjoying all the new challenges of each. I have had great opportunities to create new work, to investigate new concepts and new equipment/structures.

In 2014 I have now been awarded funding by: The Roundhouse, The Opera Group, Birmingham Hippodrome, Deda and Greenwich and Docklands Festival through: The Jerwood Foundation an DanceXchange to conduct research into: Aerial Circus and the Voice and Aerial Circus and Repetition; this will take place in September.

In my work I look for connections between people: between the performers and the performers and the audience. I also look at the breath of the performer and that of the movement and equipment. I want to be able to create a true fusion between theatre and circus where the two are intrinsically linked, neither element taking from the other, but instead supporting.

Last year I spent 3 months in Kathmandu directing a show with human trafficking survivors about their stories, lives and culture an amazing experience for so many reasons.

Consider myself to be very lucky to do what I love for a living!!!
Location:
Cardiff

Façade for Crashmat Collective (Director)
New research and development, circus and multimedia, the online life v's face to face connection; for Crashmat Collective (Director)

Block for NoFit State Circus (Director)
