What I do:
I am a 22yo actor, now based in London.

I trained at the Royal Welsh College and won a Carleton Hobbs Bursary award in 2009. I worked on the BBC Radio Drama Company for five months and have been doing a lot of comedy recently.

I recently got through to the final in The Sitcom Mission playing Greg in Custody by Paul Stokes.

I keep an active blog about acting called The Actor Begins, and you can follow me on Facebook or Twitter (@TheActorBegins).

Hi Rhys. Thanks for your message. You can still join the group if you like and do the one to one session, as well as the recording with Marina in Cardiff. You can catch up with her on your piece selection over the phone - she is doing this with one of our actors. She will be in Cardiff on Fri 23 Oct for the one to meetings and then recording on Sat 31 Oct. So let me know if you'd like to join in. The £190 deal she is doing is a real bargain. Thanks Rhys. Hi Rhys
I hope you're well.
I hope you don't mind me contacting you like this but I have set a voice reel recording session and have a place left, which I wondered if you were intersted in - details below. See details below and the info attached.
No problems if not, but wanted to offer it to someone we know and like!
Best wishes
Gemma

Are you missing out on opportunities to work and earn money? Does your agent keep nagging you to get professionally recorded voice clips? Well your problems have been solved because we have arranged a brilliant deal for you – right on your doorstep!

Marina Caldarone and Simon Cryer from CRYING OUT LOUD will be coming to Cardiff to offer you the chance to get yourselves some high quality, professional voice clips recorded in CARDIFF.

Crying Out Loud began in 1999. Marina & Simon who run the company have a unique position within the industry, as they both work within it - Simon as a Producer, Director and Composer and Marina as Acting Coach, Director and Author – between them they have over 35 years experience. Crying Out Loud does not advertise widely, as over 90% of its clients come to us via recommendations from happy customers. The focus is obviously on you, the performer. They work with you to ensure that the finished product really ‘sells’ your voice and plays to your strengths.

This would normally cost you at least £280 plus the cost of at least 2 return trips to London, but we are able to offer it to you for the bargain price of £190 (which you will earn back with 1 voice over job!)

For that price you will get:

WORKSHOP SESSION – During the workshop session you will be given advice on what kind of voice you have and the kind of voice over work which would suit your voice. This will take place in the new National Theatre Wales offices in Castle Arcade on Monday 28th September 2009 (10.30am – 3pm)
A one to one session with Marina – During this session you will do more focused work on your pieces and you will leave with a copy of the scripts so you can familiarise yourself with them before the recording session. This will take place in the Emptage Hallett meeting room on Friday 23 October 2009 (9.30am – 5.30pm)
RECORDING SESSION – In which you will be professionally directed and recorded. This will take place in the studio at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November 2009 (Sat @ 11am – 8pm & Sun @ 10.30am – 4pm)
A DISC OF YOUR RECORDINGS – On that disc will be 5 clips (3 ads + 1 promo + 1 documentary / narrative voice over + 1 drama piece / story)

Have a look at the CRYING OUT LOUD website for more information about them and to see for yourselves what a great opportunity this is.

Casting directors who are looking for voice over artists will no longer accept suggestions of actors who do not have voice clips, so you will not get voice over work without them.

Here is what other people have said about Crying Out Loud…

"I cannot speak highly enough of this company and its services. Helpful, friendly and honest they produce a fantastic demo CD for me. Use them" Mak Wilson

"Crying Out Loud studios and in particular, Simon Cryer, were a very amenable enterprise and I found their advice and support very valuable indeed." Anton Lang

"I could not have asked for a better experience when recording my voicereel! The support and help offered is invaluable and everything possible is done to make you feel at ease so you get the most out of the day. All I can say is Thanks." Ashley Hope Allan

"Fantastic. Very professional and personal service. Have a wonderful voice reel with a wide range of pieces." Charlotte Ellis

"Excellent and highly professional service - I can and do recommend them to anyone wanting to create a new demo. Mine has served me very well. Both Marina and Simon are very easy to work with and have the skills needed to assist you in every way possible." Rebecca Adamson

So you can put this into context…

This offer is only available to 20 actors and it has been arranged specifically for Emptage Hallett actors by Emptage Hallett. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and you must be available for all 3 sessions – they are compulsory. In order to reserve your place you need to ring me ASAP.

Please also note that we must fill all 20 places for the sessions to go ahead, payment is to be made in cash in full to secure your place and once booked, this is non-returnable. Please also note that your entire fee is going to pay for your tutors and recording costs.

Please ring me on 02920 344205 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to secure your place, as the first session is MONDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2009.
Thank you
