4* review for play about Shurl from the valleys

Review by Lise McNallyAn Audience with Shurl is a production with undeniable heart. And, appropriately enough for a show which hails from the valleys of Wales, it is a heart filled with a love for sound and story. A gorgeously plotted piece which is likeable, laudable and affecting, it is well worth indulging the script's occasional flaw as if smiling at an old friend.“ A voice redolent of valley forests and fireside chats”Which is exactly what Shurl (Sue Schilperoort) will become. An Audience With Shurl at Space on the Mile

August 22, 2011 at 7pm to August 27, 2011 at 7pm
Semi-autobiographical story of a woman growing up in the valleys and putting her trust in Shirley Bassey to "make anything alright" in her life. Superb comedy tinged with tragedy, marrying story-telling with musical soundscape and song.See More

Just Jack

Act 1 of Just Jack, a Saville-gate play for today

In 1970 Jack, a new young and trendy Drama teacher ends up kissing a 15-year-old pupil as they rehearse alone. In 2013 as they set up his retirement 'do', allegations are made against him by a young girl.

The play examines the impact on the whole family.
