Tour Manager @ Corey Baker Dance/Producer @ Rutherford Dance Company (RDC)
A little more about me:
I'm an arts enthusiast with an attention to detail.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Damian attended Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he gained a BA (Hons) in Dance and graduated in 2012. During this time Damian took part in professional placements working for Valley and Vale Community Arts and HarnischLacey Dance Theatre.
After graduating Damian worked for Letchworth Arts Centre, as Project Manager during which time he managed projects such as; Tour Towns; Through a Child’s Eyes and many more.
In May 2014, Damian worked as a Creative Producer for Rutherford Dance Company, touring works What Sexuality is Love?, Never Going Home Again and #3REE regionally, nationally and internationally. During this time Damian also worked and produced #PDA for Madrid based Dance Company, caraBdanza, which opened the International Day of Dance at the prestigious Museo Reine Sofia.
Damian also supports company development and growth having previously worked for Life Venture Arts as Arts Development Manager and Heads Above The Waves as Lead Development Officer.
Currently, Damian is overseeing Corey Baker Dance’s tour of Phone Box which encompasses performances in over 12 venues across the UK and a further performance in Budapest.
Projects I’m working on:
- Corey Baker Dance's, Phone Box brings to life the nostalgic British icon a red Telephone Box, with thrilling dance and a wacky digital sound-score. Entertaining and exhilarating, impressive feats of acrobatics and physical moves will captivate you. This is a laugh out load engaging performance for all to enjoy.
- #3REE, RDC's new triple bill raising the awareness of the understated work of queer arts in the West Midlands; Never Going Home Again, a commissioned choreographer and a solo recently devised on Artistic Director, Adam Rutherford, during his residency in Berlin.
- Peace of Mind, with Heads Above The Waves focuses on the social exclusions and mental health of the older generation and the effects on their families throughout generations from the 1980s through to present day.
