Projects I’m working on:
I have written over thirty plays for theatre, radio & TV including two community extravaganzas; Valleys of the Kings (Pontypridd Community Play) in 1991 and most recently Torchbearers (Mzansi Cymru Project) in 2012 featuring 200 performers playing at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff and Artscape Theatre, Cape Town.

I am now Artistic Director of my own company; Chainworks Productions. We are committed to giving voice to the unique and often disenfranchised communities of the South Wales Valleys and aim to explore local talent by forging innovative links and collaborations between artists and organisations in Wales creating high calibre work that entertains, engages, and inspires audiences.

Welsh Gladiators

Welsh drama is having boom time. Four shows from four welsh writers from four generations at the same time.

Ed Thomas up in Merthyr, Gary Owen and Alun Saunders in Cardiff and amazingly me in my sixty first year still on tour with my latest play GLADIATOR. You've got to see the others but give us a break - touring is hard. I did my first thirty years ago and they've closed all those venues.…

Gladiator by Laurence Allan -

ChainWorks Productions first full Welsh tour of GLADIATOR  has hit the road at the Coliseum, Aberdare and is now at the Gates of the City and ready to unleash hell. Chapter Arts Centre welcomes the Valleys on 29th and 30th April at 8.00pm. 

We bring with us cliches, stereotypes and a bloody big skip to bury them in. We bring with us a stellar cast and a bloody good story and of course a couple of tracks by the Stereophonics and a load of T shirts and tattoos.

You should give Mzansi Cymru it's own page on here...that way people can check on it's status/upcoming events etc and become a part of it. Might even generate new recruits for our amazing choir ;)
