Back in March, on a windswept beach in the Vale of Glamorgan, Bread & Goose began an adventure into a new project called Return. We wanted to explore Penelope's version of events in Homer's Odyssey, and to work in connection with the landscape and weather echoing her experiences of waiting and loss. Supported by Waleslab, we spent a week onsite exploring and developing ideas for the piece, and at the end of the week we hosted a little sharing. Here is a film of some of…

Have you ever been into a rehearsal room? It's a bit like stepping into an artist's workshop: frenzied chaos, shadows of fantastical shapes scattered, discarded textiles and splodges of paint underfoot; but you know, because there's that electrical charge in the room just like the final moments before a storm, that great things are afoot.

Blackout - Review
Some young people go to school carrying far heavier emotional baggage than their school bags....
I'm not generally a writer of blogs or reviews (I usually have a rant/chat in the office and I'm an 'appy chap for another week) however I got to see the play Blackout by Davey Anderson on Wednesday and I had to write about it. Sometimes, only sometimes, you get to see a play that resonates with you personally…

This is a strongly realised piece of physical theatre that goes to the heart of what it means to be in an intimate relationship with another human being.
The question raised is what is changed, what is lost, what must be tolerated, and how do we hold on to our sense of who we are, in the face of the other's perception…

Tonight I’m Gonna Be the New Me
Before attending a performance I attempt to do some light research into the company and the piece being performed, instead for ‘Tonight I’m Gonna Be The New Me’ I decided to do none of that, but instead I just went in with an open mind not knowing if I was to see.…
