Two Japanese artists, Underground Airport and Yo Nakamura are invited for this year's Wales Lab project.

The theater collective, Underground Airport, will be heading North to Anglesey to do some research on the Wylfa Nuclear Power Station and its sociocultural effect on the local residents. Yo will be heading West, near Lampeter, to work on her choreographic project focusing on the relationship of memory and native land.

They are all…

Poets

Hello to all the spoken word artists/rappers/poets,

I'm running evenings of music and poetry/spoken word around once a month at my place of work and I'm looking for more poets/spoken word artists. It by NO means needs to be conventional, there are no ways in which it needs to be performed. If you work alone or with a band or accompaniment then Id love to get you on board for a night.

All are welcome to get in touch. The point of these evenings is that rather…

Blysh festival - An awesome time of year.

Soooo it has been ages since I blogged so I thought I would put up a quick post about the awesome Blysh festival that is currently taking place at the Wales millennium centre.

The festival is a celebration of circus and cabaret and hosts a collection of the weird and wonderful. Roller discos, big electro swing events, clowning, live bands, dance are just a few things that you might discover at the event.

It is awesome.

This weekend is the closing weekend so I suggest if…

Film Team's Awesome Dawson finds our first studio!

Not only is Adam Dawson an amazing filmmaker but he's also managed to hunt out not one, but TWO, giant studio spaces for Film Team to use for FREE. Thanks to Adam's enthusiasm for all things Film Team, and his boss for the opportunity, we were spoilt for choice. Film Team have opted for the very filmic, disused amusement arcade... and hopefully they'll shoot part of their new film there before the machines go. It's creepy enough, given their fondness for a little bit of horror. Keep an eye…

...through the medium of contemporary dance

Three tatty, bearded Open University professors circa 1978 present the history of the universe through the medium of contemporary dance.

Though a secular story, God is played by the disembodied voice of Professor Brian Cox.

Whilst Cox speaks his best lines from the 2011…

Green Man // Red Woman - our first blog! By Llinos and Hannah

Greetings! We are actresses Llinos Mai and Hannah McPake, welcome to our blog about Green Man // Red Woman, which you can see at Greenman Festival from 14 - 17 August 2014. For the four days of the festival we will be camping in the woods (sharing a tent), doing magic tricks like two little David Copperfields and chatting to as many lovely ladies as we can find onsite. Life in a Small-Scale Theatre Company...Abersytwyth Mon Amour

It has been an average week in the kingdom of Welsh Noir...Louie Knight has been thrown down the stairs, Sospan has served a new ice cream flavour, Eeyore has cleaned up after the donkeys, Herod has run up and down the prom, Myfanwy has sung, Bianca has met the vicar, Mrs. Llantrisant has swabbed the front and Calamity? Well, Calamity has helped many a scarved old lady win a TeasMade in the Promenade Bingo Hall...but things are never quite what they seem on the mean streets of Aber...…

The Future for Beginners - Review

Alan Harris, ubiquitous as a writer of quirky, engaging dramas across the breadth of South Welsh theatre production, and Martin Constantine, ubiquitous as a director of youth and college opera in Cardiff, have created a trans-media production which investigates our vision of a shared future with a significant other. It is always funny and shapes up into a neat dramatic argument as its novel structure begins to settle into a pattern in your mind.

Two people…
