Today (noon) is the deadline for the Emerging Director position on NTW#35 (a production soon to be announced in detail).
Here's the info:
The Emerging Director position is a brilliant opportunity for new directors to spend some time working side by side with more experienced directors. Recently Gethin Evans wass supporting Matthew Dunster on Mametz (have a look at his blog posts here to find out what he was getting up to).

I’ve been touring a piece of theatre recently. It’s a one man show that I’ve performed in community halls, empty meeting rooms and a back yard in a block of squats. It’s called Particles. People have enjoyed it and I’ve received a lot of great feedback for it. One of the unanimous thoughts that have come from this however has been “Are you taking this up to Edinburgh for the fringe?”
I’m not. I didn’t have my show ready when deadlines were approaching. I was tempted to jump the gun…

On the 29th June we held the first of our new improved NTW TEAM Workout sessions at the Wales Millennium Centre. For those of you who haven't come across them yet, these are day events for any theatre maker who has an idea they want to get off the ground; or who wants to get involved in projects; or who just wants to come and play for the day. It was a crazy, creative day with lots of really exciting projects and participants. Thanks to everyone who came and made it so…

Following an exciting discussion about dramaturgy in Wales inspired by last year's Dirty, Gifted and Welsh event and continued in our online Writers' Group, NTW has now appointed a group of six dramaturgs to work with the company over the next year supporting writers and exploring the characteristics of theatre writing in Wales. We had an…

Almost everyone I know or speak to feels disillusioned, disengaged, disempowered by the state of our political system, and that it’s broken. I’m really interested in politics and our democratic process, yet the first time I voted was this year, 2014 (I’m 38). Personally, I often feel completely powerless and unable to do anything about the state of my community, my county, my planet. Hopefully, The Big Democracy Project will, in some way, enable me and others people to perform, debate and…

I’m just sitting in the calm of my living room thinking about what is in store for me and every body else who is about to go on Summercamp. From past experience I know it’s going to be full on: it will be hard work, long days, and people questioning what they do and why they do it - but I also know how quickly the time will fly past. We’ll have to find ways of checking in with ourselves to make sure we are able to really grab the moment before its gone.
Our Korean artists arrived in…

Day Two of rehearsals with the cast, director, designer and sound designer.
The world of Welsh Noir is proving fantastically challenging. But great fun. With eight actors, and three creatives in the room, it is packed full of ideas and everyone is contributing. The challenge, of course, is to work out which ones we use in this mad world of murder and mayhem on the…
