Arrival! Or Hairy Men On A Train

Monday 4th August

After a panicked Sunday evening involving lists, coffee (and a couple of cans of Guinness) I had an early night to prepare myself to the day of travelling ahead. Only to be woken a few hours later by my neighbour returning from the pub and slamming all his doors. I woke up with a readiness that was probably only matched by fresh recruits on night watch in World War 1. Cheers neighbour. Cheers…

A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY Suthwark Playhouse 18 July 2014 Review

A disused warehouse now occupied by the Southwark Playhouse Theatre recently voted by the Stage as the Fringe Theatre of the Year was the venue for my latest London theatrical experience. Just a visit to the theatre is an unforgettable experience, it's a curiosity that surprises and delights.

This was the review's author's second visit, this time to see Tony Kushner's play A Bright Room Called Day (plays at the Southwark Playhouse until 16 August. For more information and to buy…

Happy In My Skin - an invitation

So what's it all about?

It's about bringing inspiring women together.

It's about sharing.

It's about celebrating our bodies.

It's about baring all.

It's about being cheeky.

It's about creating something special.

It's about making a difference.

It's about saying something.

It's about joining in a global…

Life in a Small-Scale Theatre Company...Aberystwyth Mon Amour

Sadly, the fedora, the ice cream and the stovepipe hat are going back into storage, and Esmerelda and the team are off to the donkey sanctuary for a bit of well-earned rest. They say never work with animals or ice cream; well, we have to disagree, they have been simply marvellous, never complaining, never missing a call and stealing the show in Aberystwyth.

Both Esmerelda and the vanilla will hopefully be back in the Autumn of 2015...

Also, a huge thank you to Malcolm, Abi and the…

Edinburgh Day #1 - THE FUTURE FOR BEGINNERS

Well, we have arrived at the Edinburgh Fringe and what a long journey it’s been…and I’m not just talking about the 12 hour van-journey that Alan and Martin did on Wednesday.

We first started developing THE FUTURE FOR BEGINNERS a good few years ago and the Wales Millennium Centre has been with us every step of the way. This is my 2nd WMC Edinburgh (I performed in I’M WITH THE BAND at the Traverse last year which was a co-production) and every time I’ve worked with them I’ve been… Continue

Hiraeth - NTW TEAM - Ed Fringe 2014

I'm sat in a cafe eating the healthiest breakfast I could find (a fry up) and I'm taking time to reflect before the madness of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

I heard about Buddug James Jones before I met her. She was a theatre designer, had finished University, done some successful fringe productions and had ended up back in Wales working for the government. From hearing this, I knew we were going to get on. My life was pretty similar only I was trying to form a career as a producer… Continue
