Let’s take an often tried concept, the Zombie movie. I am not an expert on the zombie movie but I’ve seen enough, like most people, to form an opinion good or bad. When one mentions zombie movies one of the first films to jump to mind for the British Audience is Shaun of the Dead, a satire of American George Romero films that the stars and makers of Shaun are fans of.
Of the many funny parts of this film, the one comment that stands out is the place of safety chosen by the unlikely…

What is going on in hollywood these days? Accepted, this part of the USA is generally seen as shallow, money hungry, get all you can and step on the little guy and ‘Oh, but don’t forget to laugh at the latest Adam Sandler film. This time he’ll take the mick out of a different minority to the last film’.
Remakes, reboots and sequels. It’s a sad sign of the growing recession that original talent, such as aspiring screenwriters, playwrights and novelists are being pushed out of the…

Dawn of the Dave - on Amazon for only 99p - takes a dark, comedic look at a post-apocalyptic suburban world through the eyes of 35yr old sandal-wearing, carpet shop Assistant Manager Dave Driscoll, married to school teacher Sally, six months pregnant with their first child. The story centres on the myriad of human relationships that we become entangled in as we stagger into the real world in our late teens to twenties. We come to know people that we can happily say goodbye to at the end of…

WNO performs Così fan tutte, a comedy beside the seaside. The story tells of Guglielmo and Ferrando, who test their sweethearts’ fidelity, and whose relationships soon become very complicated indeed. Mozart’s Così fan tutte provides deep insights into the human experience, but with wit and warmth.

Hello NTW, I am Jan Miller's daughter and saw the performance last night in Connah's Quay. I have to say that it was EXCEPTIONAL and it was like stepping into another world. It was one of those performances that you never shall forget and I loved every minute. As an audience, we become prisoners to the dance, trusting the performers without a second glance and we travelled deeper and deeper into the woods. To be so close to the dancers and to watch them out of their usual habitat will not be…

Hi, I'm Ben Hall and I've been on work placement with Branches within Connah's Quay. I've been on the placement for over 2 weeks now and its been fantastic. Within the first day of my placement I was walking around the woods dressed up as the Hulk, walking along the path of the performance.
Within the next few days, I had watched the performance over and over, giving me a good idea of what the performance was about and the ideas that were behind the performance. While on this…

I was sitting at home
Not watching TV
When a large woman called by
She said, “come poaching with me”
I’m not a trouble maker
I’m too busy to be bored
But to keep salmon on the menu
Seems like a good cause

Aloha from sunny Connah's Quay! I've spent the last couple of days (since Saturday) up here in Wepre Park helping Ruth (the designer) as a Design Assistant to build, stick, drill, sow, paint, throw and staple the set together for Branches: The Nature of Crisis. Since Saturday here are just a some of the things I have been doing-
- Build a cardboard house.
- Take down a cardboard house.
- Put the cardboard house back up in middle of a nettle bush.
- Being stung by…

Very good news this morning!
Tin Shed Theatre Co. has been given it's first Arts Council Wales funding! Hazar! So our Comedy Port immersive venue will be going ahead!
Last year we ran a pilot of the scheme in which we transformed the gallery space of U.R.B.A.N into the inside of a rocket ship, complete with planets, aliens, port holes and arcade games, we did this with a tight budget and no one got paid. So this year we applied for a grant of just under £5,000…
