Our autumn tour has drawn to a close with a final performance of On Scarborough Front at Pontarddulais Comprehensive School.
What a great school. Thanks very much.
If you didn't catch OSF this time round, don't worry. We're in The Grand in Swansea on March 10th. See you there.…

Award Winning Company Familia de la Noche are running a company workshop at Chapter Arts Centre on Tuesday 24th November, alongside performances of their 5* show The Greatest Liar in all the World.
A bit about the Company: We are a new theatre company based in Wales. A pandoras box of actors, dancers, puppeteers, clowns and musicians; we make work that is funny, affecting, devastating, charming and raucously entertaining. We have had several successful runs at…

Dates are to be confirmed. We will be working with local communities on healing and mindfulness through the creative arts of performance, dance, and art. Early days here but if anyone wants to be involved either working with us and contributing their…

I will post a blog in the near future about what kind of work I will be inviting to be submitted from playwrights in the Rhondda. This will be a gradual beginning before more openings appear for others to contribute from different areas. The aim is to provide a fresh outlook for audiences and not rely on the usual stereotypical formula. I will also be posting…

We held our second regional meeting at the end of October in Wrexham and we were delighted by the number of people who turned up and offered so many excellent ideas. We heard from lecturers creating amazing, interesting pieces of theatre, from workshop facilitators who are engaging with young people in innovative and imaginative ways, from the local authority who are encouraging arts across all areas of their communities - it was a very positive experience, so a huge thanks to all who…

It has been a week since 'Parallel Lines' finished and I'm pleased to say the audience response has been amazing, for example:
"I’m still buzzing with the exhilaration of seeing Parallel Lines last night at the Ffyrnes, Llanelli. The script was powerful and relevant, and the staging was simple but so effective in its focussed austerity. Best of all, it featured four highly-talented actors all of whom gave brilliant performances. Thank…

Another curious tale that came up in discussions with a previous incarnation of the group was the problem of obsession and how far would a person convince themselves that they were correct in their assumptions. Character became secondary to this premise. The play came about from a throwaway remark by Martin Summers that the past never really leaves one. Jack…

Over the last year or so, we’ve been making efforts to support the development of creative producers in Wales. Much of this has been about trying to help demystify the role, as it's a relativly new one (by the way, if you’re still wondering what a creative producer does, take a look at our Huddle hosted by our very own Executive Producer, Lisa Maguire, and independent producer, Sarah Leigh).
We are keen to see more…

We have started our autumn schools project now.
On Scarborough Front is a beautiful chamber piece about Wilfred Owen and his time in the Clarence Gardens Hotel in Scarborough before returning to the front in 1918. Written by Stuart Fortey and with music specially composed by Andrew Griffiths, we perform the piece in secondary schools all over Swansea and the district, followed by a Q&A. It is a two-hander with Huw Novelli playing Wilfred and I am playing the…

I have included an extract from another play that will have a rehearsed reading in the near future. The play tells of Ambrose, in his late eighties, who is dying in a Welsh hospital. Appalled by his treatment because he believes he has been lying in bed for far too long, he understands he is being slowly poisoned by the morphine that has been injected into…
