British Council Call for Proposals

CDM Draft Guidance -

Here is the draft guidance issued by the HSE concerning the application of CDM regulations to Theatre Activities.

There has been lots of discussion about this and the industry's response to the consultation has been ignored and the new CDM regulations take no account of our industry - this is partly because the HSE did not think that the regs would be applied to us.

BBC e-book - Dylan Thomas - The Road to Under Milk Wood

Written by Jon Tregenna who wrote "Raw Material"  The BBC e-book - "The Road to Under Milk Wood" is a packed with video, recordings, and images.   

Beautifully written and a real interactive joy this is a great example of how an e-book can work.   Maybe not best of all but certainly appealing is that it costs nothing.

Petition to save venues

Here is a link to a petition that encourages a change of approach to planning laws which are currently threatening performance venues with closure.  At the moment if new housing is built near a venue that produces noise the venue is responsible for managing that noise as the developers have no responsibility to put sound proofing in - the consequence of this has been that venues could be forced to close as they 1:  Cannot afford to arrange sound proofing for the new builds 2: They have had…
