Back in Jan and during the NTW Yr 3 launch, I was taken by the completely mystifying mention of a DIY Festival as part of the company’s residency in Anglesey.

Since then I have joined the team as Creative Associate and as mentioned in my last blog i’m going to be working out (with you and your help) what the DIY Festival is going to be...I have loads of images in my head of cardboard boxes, gaffa tape, blackboards and megaphones, but how it will actually turn out depends on who turns up, what ideas they want to work on and how they want to share them, involving others in that process.

So, this is an invitation to artists: writers, directors, actors, choreographers, designers, performance artists, installation-makers, multi-media experimenters, technologists and developers to embrace the homemade and lo-fi aesthetics and help us create something unique.

As part of the deal we will arrange a venue (or two), book a campsite where festival-goers can pitch a tent and even cook up a storm each evening for you.

I think those are the really key parts. But there's still a lot of detail for us to work out and as ever, we are keen to hear from you about what that might be.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to be available to come to Holyhead, Anglesey between 14th and 16th June. There’s going to be updates on our website really soon so keep an eye out.

I hope to see you there.
