DOC is dressed in platform shoes, a white flared suit and a black shirt open to just above his navel; he places a medallion around his neck
21. INT. NIGHT. TELEVISON ROOM
DEWI is moving from chair to chair, cautiously he moves closer to CLEM; finally taking a seat next to CLEM.
DEWI
Clem, Clem… what did you mean... was there
drugs in the bag? Or money, was there money
in the bag?
CLEM
Neither when I looked.
22. INT. NIGHT. RECEPTION
BAG ED is sweating, looking nervous as the POLICE OFFICER
takes notes.
POLICE OFFICER
Full name.
BAG ED
What…Edward Bagley, that’s where may name
comes from…Bag Ed… Edward Bagley, you see.
POLICE OFFICER
Oh, I thought they where saying Bag head.
BAG ED
Why…
POLICE OFFICER
…No matter.
CORRIDOR GROUND FLOOR
DOC strolls purposely down the corridor
23. INT. NIGHT. TELEVISON ROOM
CLEM catches site of DOC through the window and slowly raises to his feet and walks towards the door, ELIJAH stands and follows.
ELIJAH
Where are you going Clem, you have to wait
here until the officer has seen you; Clem.
CORRIDOR GROUND FLOOR
Clem steps out into the corridor to see the on coming DOC, ELIJAH appears
ELIJAH
Clem I was…Doc?
DOC walks past them both stopping at the reception window.
RECEPTION
POLICE OFFICER taking notes; BAG ED sees DOC behind the glass.
POLICE OFFICER
Carry on, Bagley, carry on.
RECEPTION AREA
ELIJAH confronts DOC
ELIJAH
Doc is everything alright.
DOC
Here’s my key I’m going out
ELIJAH
Its late Doc, I think you should go back to
your room.
MUSTAFA, DEWI, WESLEY have now converged
CLEM
Where are you going Doc?
MUSTAFA
Back to the seventies; by the looks of him.
ELIJAH
Don’t interfere, can you go back into the
television Room.
POLICE OFFICER steps out into the reception area
POLICE OFFICER
Is there a problem?
MUSTAFA
That suit, that’s the problem
ELIJAH
Your only adding to the confusion so please,
go back into the television room.
CLEM
Open the door, the man wants to go out.
DOC
It’s time for me to go. I’ve been here long
enough, look, look at me, my suit doesn’t
even fit me properly but I can still cut it,
I can be that man again, I’ll show you, if
you just let me out.
ELIJAH
I’m not stopping you Doc but I don’t think
that’s a good idea at this moment Doc, what
about tomorrow.
DOC
Tomorrow, everything’s tomorrow or yesterday
what about today, what about now. I want to
go now.
POLICE OFFICER
I need to question you, you can’t go anywhere
until I’ve questioned you.
ELIJAH
Doc I have a duty of care, I can’t let you go
out, its dangerous at this time of night out
there.
MUSTAFA
It’s dangerous in here at this time of night,
drugies, alcoholics, ex cons and murderers.
DOC makes his way to the main door and begins to push and rattle the door.
ELIJAH follows
ELIJAH
You’ll damage the door Doc, stop, stop now!
POLICE OFFICER
If you don’t, I’ll arrest you.
CLEM
When all else fails through them in jails
ELIJAH
Doc listen, you can go out when you’ve
answered the police officers questions.
CLEM
Let the man go out, he’s has every right too.
ELIJAH
Look I won’t tell you lot again! Go back in
to that television room now!
BAG ED comes out of reception
BAG ED
Have you finished with me yet officer?
ELIJAH
Look it’s your turn Doc, the police officer
wants a word. Come with me now and then we
can talk about you going out, I promise.
ELIJAH leads DOC into reception holding the door open; The POILCE OFFICER follows.
