This idea is, undoubtedly, not unique to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, but it deserves applauding nevertheless.

So, we've been down in London holding auditions.  As you do, when you're in the Big Smoke, thought I'd catch a show.  Managed to wangle a disabled and escort seat for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  No wheelchair spaces available, fair enough, I'm happy to transfer into a normal seat.  The ushers very kindly helped us in and took the wheelchair away until the interval/curtain/as and when we needed it etc.

The show, for me anyway, defies a lot of the early criticism.  It's cracking, tonally a lot more cartoony than previous incarnations, but don't harbour any preconceptions and go see it!  Go see it!

Anyway I'm getting off point.  When my wheelchair was returned, a little piece of paper was folded on the seat.  It turned out to be an access/disabled patrons comments form.  Now, the service was great anyway, possibly via initiatives like this, but it just seemed such a great, thoughtful and welcome idea.

Hat's off Drury Lane!
