I really loved getting out into deepest darkest Canton last night to see Caroline Sabin's A Curious Zoo. Its billing left me wondering whether I was in for a treat or a fright or both - and I was glad to be proved right!

It was an amazing fantastic-al evening - melancholic winter-tainment with a hint of hohoho. Plus there was more than a little myth, fairy tale and folk story twisted into it - shaggy dogs to provoke, chill and warn.

Recommended if you'd like some twisted Narnia this side of the yule...

Just to be clear they're not home alone, ahem...

I know, get me! As John commented the other day, it's almost a miracle I leave the house, let alone with no baby sick on me... (I was out three times in two weeks in fact as was at Cardiff Read book group the night before - I know!)

Ooh, sounds good! We were in Sherman Cymru watching Last Christmas, which I really enjoyed - very moving, a brilliantly written and wonderfully acted one-man show about a man's slow journey home for Christmas. It was made by Dirty Protest, who you absolutely must get to know sometime - they are a very clever fringe theatre co. based in Cardiff.

Can't believe you've been out by yourself two weeks in a row!
