Sorry about the delay in my blogging - I’m still quite the novice. We have come the end of our second full week of rehearsals and the show is really starting to take it’s shape! At the beginning of the week we brought in various pieces of set (I won’t tell you what - it’s a surprise) and they have transformed our rehearsal room. We have been working through the different scenes finding the rhythm and the driving force behind them. This has been exhaustive and everyone has really delved deep into their characters drawing out the essence of each piece, some of which are truly heartbreaking. It was really nice to let off some steam at Mercury Theatre Wales curry and quiz night at Koko Gorilaz in Cathays where we went on Thursday evening after rehearsal. Back in rehearsal it’s becoming quite interesting to try and keep on top of the gargantuan props and costume lists, but our ASM Tafara has been out shopping most of the week and every day another new item appears for the actors to use - it’s like christmas come early! Ukelele update - song count is now at 9 which is very impressive and Canton gets treated to a daily concert at 9.30am. Everyone seems to be having so much fun discovering new things about the stories and yesterday we were all in hysterics as we learnt to do the jitterbug with choreographer Phil Williams, this is going to be pretty impressive…all I’m going to say is roller blind lift. Being a part of such an amazing company throughout their development of, in my opinion, a very special show has been both a privilege and a great opportunity for me to learn - I am currently company swing, with speciality skills in; ukelele, carol singing, crowd control and sofa positioning! It’s been great hearing so many people are booking tickets, but you will need to get your’s soon because you don’t want to miss out on this - it’s a chance to see how creative and accomplished Welsh theatre is. See you there.

Luke

Good to hear news of rehearsals Luke.  I'm hoping to catch the show on Thursday.
