Audition Notice - IGAM OGAM

Coreo Cymru, (creative producer for dance in Wales) and Wales Millennium Centre are looking for one professional male and two professional female dancers/performers to take part in a new touring children’s production based on the television animation series Igam Ogam.

Contract from 27th MAY to 25th AUGUST, 2013 (13 weeks) weekly fee of £450 plus commuting/relocation and touring subsistence, where appropriate.

Dancers need to be under 5ft 6in and have strong contemporary technique, and exceptional performance skills. They will be familiar with the improvisation and devising process and have a physical/risk-taking approach in their performance delivery. Dancers need to be able to work with text and songs and enjoy performing for children.

 

Female role 1 – Igam Ogam (naughty cave girl)

Highly experienced performer required to carry the show and interact with the audience aged between 2 and 6 olds year. Aerial skills and contemporary dance experienced. Singing audition will include nursery rhymes to sound like a toddler-Igam Ogam.  

Female role 2 – Puppeteer (contract start date 3rd June)

This role will require some basic puppetry and shadow puppet skills and a good understanding of stage-craft, plus aerial skills and contemporary dance experienced.

Male role – Roly (Igam Ogam’s best friend - a monkey)

Excellent breakdancing and parkour ability required for the role with some contemporary dance experience and confident use of text and voice. (basic beatbox ability desirable)

 

AUDITIONS are by invitation only and will be held at Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff Bay, CF10 5AL:
