If you intend coming to see For Mountain, Sand & Sea in the summer I would really recommend traveling by rail. Entering Barmouth via crossing the Mawddach is truly spectacular and the experience only adds to the towns uniqueness.

Wordsworth was spot on when he wrote "With a fine sea view in front, the mountains behind, the glorious estuary running eight miles inland, and Cadair Idris within compass of a day's walk, Barmouth can always hold its own against any rival."

The trip takes four half hours with one short change over in Shrewsbury but it’s definitely worth it.

Thanks Alan, I must say I'm enjoying immersing myself into the project, gathering data for potential material etc. I'm back up there this afternoon to meet the WI to cajole them into coming along to the Story Shop in March to help collate an oral history of the town. Re getting involved, the main artists have been selected (the residency begins on June 14th) but I'm sure other opportunities will emerge.
