Back in Oct last year the BBC launched a call for nominations aimed at theatres and theatre companies across the UK, to find 10 emerging writers to be supported by the BBC's Writersroom programme.

We started a number of conversations with writers who's work we have been particularly excited by recently (and that fit the rather precise criteria!). We loved Lisa Jen Brown's 'TUNA', performed as part of Dirty, Gifted and Welsh during our residency at the Park and Dare, Treorchy last year and so decided that we would nominate her for the opportunity. We were also very excited by Sandra Bendelow's writing and so put her forward with her idea 'A secret never to be told'.

The BBC have just announced their final 10, and I'm pleased to say it features one of our writer's from Wales: Lisa Jen Brown. Congratulations Lisa - really looking forward to seeing how it all develops this year.

Have a look her for more information: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/writersroom/posts/Writersroom-10-Winners...

I'm also pleased to say that we will continue to work with Sandra on her idea. Two writers from NTW in the final 10 would have been a bit greedy, apparently!
