CALL - local professional DIRECTOR to lead Workshop/ Session for Everyman Theatre Company, Cardiff

Everyman Theatre Company, Cardiff is currently organising a programme of Training and Development and has set aside Friday 29 May (from 7.30 pm) for a Workshop/ Session titled "The Role of a Theatre Director". The event will target current, new, or potential Company members, who may be interested in Directing for Everyman in the future.

This will be paid work and we are seeking a professional Director – preferably living/ working locally – to deliver the session. The selected practitioner will have a good track-record in text-based productions, though an interest in or experience of devising/ site-responsive/ site-specific work, will also be of interest.

The format of the session is likely to be:

7.30 pm - Presentation by professional Director, to include practical work if appropriate or logistically possible. Number of attendees will not be known beforehand; I have circulated our membership and asked those attending to do some research of their own (e.g. Katie Mitchell's "The Director's Craft"; Jean Benedetti's work on Stanislavski; Declan Donnellan's "The Actor and the Target"). The presentation/ workshop is scheduled to last up to two hours.

9.30 pm (say) - Q & A; I hope to encourage some of our more experienced Directors to attend and to support - possibly as part of a panel, to respond in the context of Everyman productions!

If you are interested in an opportunity to work with our well-established amateur company, please contact me by forwarding a resumé and some idea of the fee required. This would be subject to negotiation and finalised during an initial meeting:
