Stories of the Streets: Access All Areas

Exciting Opportunity for TEAM Members - Production Blogger

The Producers of Stories of the Streets are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated TEAM member to cover the production process for a very special edition of TEAM's highly popular new-writing event, kindly supported by National Theatre Wales TEAM, giving emerging playwrights the chance to have their short plays performed in unusual venues.

To kick start Stories of the Streets for 2016, we are proud to have partnered with Disability Arts Cymru. As always, the plays are inspired by overheard conversations in locations given at random but this time we've also challenged our commissioned writers to incorporate an access requirement such as audio description, captioning or BSL with which they must be as creative as possible.

To accompany the plays and production process we would like to commission a blogger to write a series of blog posts, which will appear on National Theatre Wales community and, where appropriate, #atDAC - the Disability Arts Cymru. The posts will cover the creation of the event, as well as interacting on official channels of social media and the National Theatre Wales community. This is an exciting opportunity to gain blogging skills and will act as a valuable showcase for any artist looking for experience of working online.

The fee for this role will be £150. The successful applicant will need to be available for 2 days of rehearsals (26th and 27th January) for 4 hours per day and the day of the performance (28th January).

We would like to actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds.

To apply for this exciting role please send no more than 100 words on why you should be the Stories of the Streets blogger. Applications should be sent to team@nationaltheatrewales.org by the closing date: 14th January at 5pm.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kelly Jones and Tom Wentworth
