Vocal Spiel is a one-woman vocal piece that plays with the sound of language - what might be above, beyond, or behind our dialogical exchanges. Spiel, taken from German, is a tricky word; it means ‘play’, ‘game’, ‘performance’ and ‘gamble’ all at once reflecting what will occur in this performance.
The piece plays on everyday phrases used in conversational situations in the pub – from asking for a pint, to overheard chat up lines, slurred words, and various loo excuses. Part of the content will be derived on the night making the work vocally site responsive to both the place and the people within it.
Come see this work-in-progress in London Saturday 14th December 7.30pm No Entrance fee!
