Does anyone know how to kill seagulls?

No, seriously.

The NTW offices are great and have a huge skylight thing in the ceiling. Consequently we're either deafened by torrential rain or by seagulls that sound more like donkeys.

Now, we can't really do much about the rain, so my question remains: does anyone know who to kill seagulls?

(Legal considerations are optional)

Well, you did say legal considerations aside, so...

A) Shoot them, you can borrow my air rifle if you like.

B) Set up snares on the roof, once caught they will eventually starve to death.

C) Put out little bread balls stuffed with baking soda, their innards will explode after a while.

D) Catch them and eat them. (if you are interested in this option I have a few techniques to share)

If you will ask these questions...

Interestingly I believe that there is a Falconer around the Cardiff area that is employed to bring a hawk or falcon to scare away the seagulls/pigeons. I might be worth looking into. I think they do it around where my mum works. I'll see if I can get some information about it.

The Westgate Street flats and the stadium hire falconers to fly birds of prey around their buildings, which apparently scare the seagulls and pigeons off. You could pop in to the caretaker's office and ask who they use.

Have they turned up early for auditions - assuming NTW will be producing Chekov's The Seagull in an empty shop window?

Options for deterring them could include...

Commissioning NTW site members, one by one, to sit on the roof with Catherine Paskell singing duets of Britney's greatest hits.

Commissioning Aaron and Jordan to sit on the roof feeding each other baking soda until they each explode! :)

Stop putting dead fish out on roof.

Start putting dead fish on a roof 500 metres away.

Wait patiently until the depth of guano reaches one metre - by which time the office will be sound proofed.

Noooo - 'Kill' is such an ugly word!
Can't bear the thought of them being harmed so try the ideas on How to Get Rid of Stuff instead ...

Maybe if we opened up the roof, the seagulls would come in and be ripped apart by the rotating blades of the ceiling fans - or is that just a little harsh?!

Hi
Yes have similar problem. May be deterring the seagulls is a better option as you would have to kill 1000,s of birds and that could cause disposal issues etc….
