Dream Space needs dynamic artists/leaders to inspire young change makers!

At Mess Up The Mess Theatre Company we are currently running a range of Community Action Projects (CAPS) as part of our Big Lottery Funded Dream On programme. Within these projects different groups of disadvantaged or marginalised young people are supported to make a change to a community they feel part of through the arts. Current project include exploring mental health with young carers and the need for Trans issues within Personal and Social Education with Trans young people.

We are bringing together 5 young people from each of our 3 current CAPS and Mess Up Per Leaders to develop each other’s project proposals plus take on board training to improve their projects. Areas we wish to include in the residential training weekend ‘Dream Space’ based in Swansea at the end of February include:

  • Marketing include online
  • Events organisation
  • Campaigning including online/through the arts
  • Public speaking
  • Graphic design

The training could be through professionals taking part in the project pitch panel feedback, leading workshops, Q and A’s or small surgery style support. We need exciting, dynamic, role models and engaging trainers to do this work. We are interested in people from near and far and ideally from a diverse group.

The participants will be mainly aged 14-25 and there will be around 20 taking part.

Training is taking place from Fri 27th Feb to Sun March 1st at a residential venue outside Swansea.
