Emergence people at Tipping Point event

Emergence our arts and sustainability project here in Wales was very inspired by the work of the people at Tipping Point. You could say we are all part of a broader family of arts ventures that are thinking about things like social justice, activism and climate change. Here is a chance to get to one of their brilliant events.

Some of you will have seen Alan Dix (Director of My LAST CARE) perform his Peachy Coochy piece as part of the Emergence conference at Taliesin Swansea. Also Lucy Neal who is also part of the day and gave an inspiring talk about how arts people have engaged with the Transition Town movement in different parts of the UK and internationally. If you can get there, I'd really recommend it. You will feed on the ideas for a long time to come...

SPECIAL TIPPINGPOINT EVENT - SATURDAY 8TH OCTOBER AT WARWICK ARTS CENTRE 10.30am - 3.30pm.

See how theatre and film artists are helping us explore climate change. TippingPoint has a long history of bringing people together to explore the cultural context of climate change. Here we will be using a new production called MY LAST CAR as the starting point for a series of conversations.  It's always good to have a unusual/provocative stimuli to precipitate thinking and more importantly action...MY LAST CAR explores our emotional relation to objects - how we learn to give up some of the things that we never thought we could. Our cars hold important memories and experiences - how do we acknowledge this emotional attachment as we consider how we might relinquish our dependency on the motor car.

See the production and participate in facilitated conversations on these important subjects. Have lunch, have fun and leave with lots of new thoughts and perspectives.
